Setting
West Point Community schools serves the town of West Point & surrounding areas. The school district has a unique environment with both traditional values, as well as progressive education. The system currently contains a middle school (grades 5-8) and a high school (grades 9-12), with an elementary school plan being developed. While this plan is being established, we continue to work closely with surrounding districts in order to provide appropriate transportation for elementary students.
Structure
WPCS is governed by a 5 member school board elected by the local citizens. The board takes its responsibility of educating local students very seriously, and strives to allow our schools to keep up with the trends in education that will best support students & staff in their mission.
Technology
WPCS has a strong dedication to technology in education. In the WPCS school district, we regularly encourage the use of technologies such as Google Classroom, which allows for teachers to assign work in a clear and simple fashion for students. Each WPCS student is assigned their own device to work on assignments, both at school, and at home. For more information about these devices, see our Technology Department’s pages.
